About Us

We built Gild because we were tired of watching patients hesitate at the front desk.

It happened the same way, appointment after appointment: a patient needing care, and a moment of hesitation at the payment terminal that had nothing to do with their health.

The upfront cost. The wait for the rebate. The mental arithmetic of working out what a visit would actually end up costing, days after the fact. We watched it delay follow-ups, cancel referrals, and quietly push people away from the care they needed.

We didn't think that was good enough. So we built the alternative.

Our mission

Healthcare payments should be as simple as the care itself. Gild removes the upfront cost and the paperwork, so patients pay only what they owe - the gap - and nothing more, while their Medicare rebate is claimed automatically, in the same moment.

No waiting. No chasing. No waiting to find out what you actually paid after the statement arrives. Just care, and a fair, transparent way to pay for it.

We believe that when cost gets in the way of care, something in the system has already broken down. Gild exists to fix that - quietly, and at the point it matters most.

Who we are

Gild was founded by practising GPs who saw this problem from the inside - not as an abstract inefficiency, but as something that happened, quietly, in their own consulting rooms.

That clinical grounding shapes everything we build. Alongside our founders, Gild is built by a team with deep experience in engineering and product, brought together around a single focus: payment infrastructure that healthcare can actually rely on.

Why it matters

Every dollar a patient can't easily pay, and every hour a practice spends reconciling rebates, is time and trust taken away from care. We started Gild because we believe healthcare payments are infrastructure, not an afterthought - and infrastructure deserves to be built properly.
